Color Changing Snow


An Activity for Preschoolers:
A hands-on STEM (Science) sensory activity that encourages observation. 


Before You Begin:
You may want to set up the children’s workstation ahead of time by having water in the cups or containers. 


Activity Goals:
To promote observation skills. 


Furthermore:
For older children, you can place a teaspoon of Insta-Snow in each child’s hand. Drip a few drops of water on the snow and have the children describe what happens and how it feels as it expands and cools in their hand. 




Measure 2 oz. of water into a cup.
Have children place 2 drops of Liquid Watercolor™ into the cup.
Have children add 1 teaspoon of Insta-Snow to the mixture.
Ask children to explain what happened and share their observations.
Invite children to touch the mixture and discuss how it feels to them.
